Budget council: still highest CT in London
Conservative colleagues last week attacked the Lid Dem 3.2% rise, which would have been 4% but for the action of Boris Johnson in freezing the GLA precept at its 2008 level. This was done by pruning some of Ken’s wasteful expenditure. I fancy there’s more to come where that came from.

Parents petition for new school
There’s a school place shortage in Surbiton. It’s causing considerable concern to parents with children approaching school age. I have had quite a bit of mail on the subject and visits to ward surgeries.
Now there’s an e-petition from Helen Whately and others, which I’m supporting, together with Nick Kilby.

Surbiton Hospital site could become a ‘Community Hub’
Nick Kilby and I, together with other Surbiton Neighbourhood Councillors have met with representatives from the Police, Primary Care Trust (PCT), GP surgeries and the voluntary sector to explore the exciting possibility of delivering a range of community services from the Surbiton Hospital site – ‘a community hub’.
